Wellness Exams for Children
Medicaid includes early and periodic screening, diagnostic, and treatment (EPSDT) as part of its child health program.
According to federal rules and regulations, states are required to provide a wide range of preventative and treatment services, and children under the age of 21 who are registered in Medicaid are eligible for EPSDT benefits.
Well Child Checkups

Schedule of Recommended Health Visits

These well-child examinations are intended to track your child’s growth throughout the course of their four developmental phases: infancy (birth to eleven months), early childhood (birth to four years), middle childhood (five to ten years), and adolescence (11 to 21 years). Frequent well-child visits support your child’s overall health and aid in the prevention of sickness and illness. Every visit is an opportunity to collaborate as a team with your kid’s healthcare professional, to think about your child and how you can support them.
While the growth of some kids might easily fit into these categories, that of others would not. Discuss your child’s development with your child’s medical professional.
In order to keep your child safe and healthy, we as health care professionals intend to collaborate with you as a partner. We will do this by building trust and facilitating open communication. It normally takes more than one visit to accomplish this. Information sharing: In order to give your child the greatest care possible, we both have knowledge that the other needs to know.
